Safimet Obtains Ecovadis 2023 Certification

A virtuous company that’s aware of its responsibility towards the planet and future generations, as well as having a sustainable and transparent business model, Safimet has made sustainability and people two of the most important drivers of its development, moving every day towards an increasingly ethical paradigm in which economic performance is constantly combined with the utmost attention to positive environmental, cultural and social impact.

Its commitment in this regard, which has already determined important choices in the recent past - Safimet is the only company in the precious metals recovery and refining sector to become a social enterprise - has now taken the well-known Arezzo company to a significant new milestone: Safimet has obtained EcoVadis 2023 certification, receiving a Bronze medal from one of the world’s most accredited corporate sustainability rating agencies, with a commitment to obtain a silver medal in the next year.

EcoVadis certification is a system for assessing the environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of companies. Issued following in-depth analysis based on globally recognised standards - GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), UNGC (United Nations Global Compact), ISO 26000 - the certification is awarded to companies that stand out for their positive performance in relation to four macro-areas: Environment, Employment and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

The score from 0 to 100 obtained in each field contributes to an overall score which, by exceeding a certain threshold, allows the company to obtain certification in the form of a bronze, silver, gold or platinum EcoVadis Medal, which reflects the quality of the company's sustainability management system at the time of evaluation.
